  My grandparents moved from Long Island to Milledgeville in the 80s and my family has been coming down for visits once or twice a year ever since. It's been cool to watch the community develop and grow over time.
  
  Aubri Lane's is a welcomed addition to downtown MIlledgeville and an excellent spot for a family dinner and some really amazing southern cuisine.
  
  They have a lot of great appetizers, and some excellent dinner options. You also can't beat the the $3 glasses of wine and domestic drafts during happy hour.
  
  I went with the braised short rib and cheese grits. The beef was cooked to perfection and soft enough to cut with the edge of a fork. The grits were savory and satisfying.
  
  We all split the bread pudding for desert. I'm now living in Philadelphia and have tried, supposedly, the best bread pudding in America. I'd say the one at Aubri Lane's could give it a run for it's money.
  
  The location is also quite cool. It's located in an old bank. They've used the unique interior to their advantage. You can even request to be seated in the old vault!
